Well, doing househo.d work. You become so focused on doing what you are doing that you don’t even think that much about what stresses you. Also when I play a sport, I try to exert my anger that i am feeling into my pitch and i am able to through faster better and harder. THirdly, if I go outside and I’m around a lot of plants, I feel better. They are nature’s stress relievers believe it or not. that is why after a while you are not as stressed anymore, but rather calm. A long walk through the green is good! =D

Well, as you said, reading a novel often works. Why it works is because it takes you away to another place, but in order for that to work you’d have to have all your attention focused on the book, the moment it’s off, the stress will probably sneak its way back.
Also, something else that helps is writing because then you can vent your stress through silent words and not lash out at others.

There are many things you can do to help you relax. First and foremost, it must be something that you enjoy doing.
I personally enjoy doing yoga (the sun salutation doesn’t take too long) and I find that it relaxes me a lot. Also, as silly as it sounds, focusing on your breathing is simple, but it works.
See the references below for easy to follow instructions on sun salutation and breathing exercises.
