Started Smoking To Deal With Panic Attacks, What Should I Do?

I just turned 18 and ive been having panic attacks since about the age of 16. I hate them so much, i am pretty sure i have agrophobia cuz they always happen around a lot of people. Recently i decided for some reason to start smoking cigarettes to relieve my stress. I just started taking Luvox 50 mg for my panic attacks, but they dont seem to be working yet. My doctor did not want to prescribe a benzo because he said id be sleeping all the time. So whenever i feel stressed or high levels of anxiety i go out and have a smoke. I only smoke like once every two days. What should i do? I know smoking is bad, should i tell my doctor about this?
