Yes. Laughing releases endorphines that make you feel euphoric. Its a stress release to cry because you have all that energy pent up inside you. Both always help me. Laughter is the best medicine!
Crying has always helped me with my stress. and once in a blue moon i can make myself to get it out but i like to let it happen naturally. for me a natural cry helps me alot
Like the old saying goes, honey, laughter is the best medicine. I have an Uncle who is a retired Episcopal Rector of his parish and believe me with his and his wife’s 4 grown children and EVERYTHING they’ve all been through, we’re talking 4 abortions, all three girls were bartenders, one went to Jamaica and hooked up with a cruise person, now she’s in a committed before God relationship and her 2 sons are grown now and doing fine, and the son is about the only one who really never screwed up on anything. He’s got a lovely wife and 2 kids who are great! Believe me, Uncle JP (Christ Church of Norcross, GA-he’s on the web just like that— is a very jovial jolly person and truly finds the love and humor in everything about life and living! If you ever wanted to hear a great sermon for inspiration it was his.
But yes, laughter and especially laughing at one’s self-booboos is always best. Life is too short to get all wound up and too tight! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! gnight ya’ll!
It’s excellent for letting off steam, and very healthy. However, it’s not much good for relaxing until you have a genuine trigger.
Another way of letting off steam is to put on a song you like and dance around to it and sing along. It’s fun and silly and very enjoyable, and if people don’t like you doing it, too bad. Just don’t do it at anti-social hours in a densely populated area.
Absolutely! I just recently went through an extremely stressful period in my life, and not just crying and laughing, but talking most specifically about what is bothering me/stressing me helps a lot. Find a great release… have fun, take time for yourself… and remember that life’s too short to get stressed about the little stuff…
both yes…it sure does….
It is easier to make yourself laugh….than cry I would think. So try Laughing ….just trying to laugh….will lift your spirits. Good luck
well, if there is nothing to cry about, then i wouldnt force yourself to. but laughing makes you live longer. i have sooo many reasons to be stressed out right now, what i do, i just pretend like it doesnt matter, and now i walk around without a care in th world. its kinda scary, its like of trained myself not to be stressed, the other day i failed a major test, and i couldnt force myself to get stressed. try that!
i do.
lol.
it helps me.
but laughing usually comes naturally for me when im stressed. lol. its that crazy manical laughter you hear right before someone goes crazy.. yep. lol.
I can make myself cry but it doesn’t help with stress. I do yoga and it helps a LOT. I’m not talking about fancy body knots and stuff, just lay on your bed and breathe! It’s ALL about the breathing and when you are doing it you are just thinking about breathing and being relaxed. Anyways, some people do believe crying helps with stress but it doesn’t work for me.
have you ever cried while watching a movie or TV show. Have you laughed at a comedian that is making fun about things that you actually have experienced. Laughing and crying are the the best ways to relieve stress. You can’t force crying…but we all force laughter. If we say something that we think is funny we always follow with a laugh or giggle. Just watch yourself or the people around you. A group of people can have a laugh out loud and have fun. A group cry is reserved for the saddest things that happen to us. Funerals etc. Both are stress relievers.

Helps me! Sometimes a good scream into the mattress works too. The sore throat is sometimes worth it!
