It’s bold that you conceded your anxiety attacks, and want to change them. Whenever you feel anger, anxiety, or any form of ‘on the edge emotions’ coming, I advise you to take out a piece of paper and write down all your feelings. Anything you’d want to say to the person who caused you the pain, the hurt you are feeling, your hopes for it all to end – whatever the case may be – write it all down. When you’re done, crumple up the piece of paper and step on it. Step on the grief and throw it out. Be done with it and never look back. After that, it is best to move on and relax. Give it time and do not put too much pressure on yourself. If you do this enough, soon the anxiety attacks will be nothing more than the past.
Best of luck.

First, you should definitely talk to your doctor. This is a health and well-being issue, and there is absolutely no reason why you should not get help from a professional.
Have you tried vipassana meditation? I have had anxiety attacks in the past and found the breathing technique is a good way to lower my stress level and calm down. You may also want to do yoga. There are lots of mind/body techniques that have been shown to lower overall stress levels. Not only is your stress lowered while you’re doing them, but it remains lower even while you are not doing them.
And, of course, there are anti-anxiety medications. I’m on one now, and they work–but I’d recommend you check into other nonmedical options first.
Oh, and then there’s therapy! :p
Best of luck.
