Anyone Here Who Likes To Stay Inside The House And Who Gets Severe Panic Attacks Whenever They’re Around Ppl?

I would just like to know if there is anybody out there who feels the same when they’re around people, even people on television or the sound of they’re voices. Please, no harsh comments.

Hi Louisa,
I went through the same thing years ago when I was suffering from depression & severe anxiety disorder. I would freak out within about 15 minutes if I was in a crowded place like a bar or restaurant. I could feel a major panic attack coming on. Also, when I watched TV I would think the whole world has gone fricken nuts. I would think “Why is do they put such wierd insane stuff on tv.” It was especially bad during commercials. I would get pissed off and have to turn the tv off.
My problem was due to a major chemical imbalance in my brain. I was able to successfully treat it. I have been back to normal for many years now. Things like that don’t bother me at all anymore.

I don’t have this problem, but crowds scare me, I would rather be alone, or with a few friends than around a lot of people.

I am not that bad yet, but I can see it is as a logical conclusion.

Yes. It’s more common than most people think. It’s called social anxiety disorder, check it out on wikipedia.com.
Sometimes all I have to do is think about a social atmosphere and I will start to sweat and shake.
You can overcome these feelings with some therapy and meds. It has helped me out tremendously.

I have the same problem. I never liked crowds, I didnt finish high school the first time around because I was so afraid to be around people. Do you feel like your over aware of whats around you? Do you excell in one area (math, music, etc)? You may have aspergers like me. It’s slight form of austism but much easier to treat. Or you may have social anxiety eitheir way you need to see someone, good luck.

Panic no but to stay alone sometimes and be away from all the jerks in the world with smart a** attitudes, yes!. Hard to find good quality people nowadays.
