Any Idea On How To Control Anxiety Attacks Without Taking Medication?

hey…wow, i seen your question and i knew i had to answer…I suffer from anxiety attacks, and i know how awfully horrible they are…Drink something warm, allow yourself to cry, hold yourself and rock back and forth, call one of your closest friends right away, b/c its hard to control your own thoughts when having an anxiety attack and if you start to think something suicidal or smn like that, they will be there to help you sort through your thoughts. i usually call a friend right away and they talk me through it, or i just talk until i feel like ive gotten everything out… and then i work on taking deep breaths and then i make myself comfortable and drink hot chocolate. This will all help you with the hyperventillating, and the gagging and all the other fun stuff that comes along with anxiety attacks…But, these things wil only take temporary pain away. Work on a relationship with God, if you do not already have one. I gaurentee you that my relationship with god is what really saves me every time and i know he can do the same for you…Take care and i hope i could help!!!!!! and just remember its not your fault…

I got help for mine here:
http://www.3-minute-depression-cure.com
They showed me what was causing them, and how to stop them. Anxiety is actually pretty closely linked to depression – I wouldn’t have thought that!
Anyhow, I’m MUCH happier now, and I’m not poisoning my body with expensive meds! If I feel another panic attack coming on, I can sit down and think about things for a while, and clear myself up in a jiffy! Woo hoo!
Good luck with your own search!

This takes some practice, so you’ll want to do it BEFORE you feel anxious.
Time your inhale and exhale with your heart beat. Like 3 or 4 beats on the inhale and 6-8 on the exhale.
Then, start with your toes and make ‘fists’ with them and hold for 30 seconds. The release and feel the tension flow out of your feet.
Then repeat with your calves, thyes, etc, all the way to the top of your head.
Keep working with your breathing so you release on your exhale.
It’s a little complicated to learn, but very effective at relaxing.

Question best posed to the professionals.
Congitive Behaviour Therapy has solid results. Look there to begin. Depending on the severity you might simply be better getting in contact with a psychologist.
